ring Michelle Nagai and DD Dorvillier are sisters who have been creating works together since childhood. Their most recent investigations - collectively titled "ring" - have focused on the vibratory nature of expression as manifested through sound, movement, listening and transmission. DD Dorvillier is a dancer, choreographer, and teacher.
She has created experimental and multidisciplinary works in New York
City since 1989 in traditional dance/theater venues as well as in
nightclubs, galleries and site-specific environments. She maintains an
on-going collaboration with performer/playwright Peter Jacobs with whom
she shares human future dance corps, a company devoted to the creation
of original multidisciplinary works. Michelle Nagai is a composer who makes site-specific performances, radio broadcasts and installations for acoustic instruments, live electronics, found objects, natural elements and costume constructions. She is the founder of Treetheater Projects and the creator of EC(h)OLOCATOR, a touring soundscape project for community radio stations across North America. ----------PAST PERFORMANCES------------------ October
